About your Team  

The Growth Team is responsible for driving the company's business expansion through lead generation, client conversion, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. This involves collaborative efforts with Sales & Account Management, facilitating client interactions, the Retail Success Team for successful retail operations deployment, Marketing for brand management and communication, and RevOps for internal team coordination and alignment with company goals.

How Can You Help?

As a General Manager South EU you’ll take on the mission to drive business opportunities and foster strong client relationships in the Spanish, Italian and French market. Your role is crucial for achieving sustainable financial growth and aligning with the company's global vision. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring satisfaction and growth in current accounts through various formats and digital products.

Daily at Sensei, you will:

  • Strive to make Sensei the leading autonomous store tech provider in your location
  • Own, drive, and manage effective relationships with current and prospective B2B customers
  • Engage in creating and nurturing B2B customer leads daily, from prospecting to deal closure and ongoing support
  • Contribute to the company's GTM strategy and ensure flawless execution locally
  • Drive local partnerships daily to enhance scalability and ensure consistent service quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and C-level management on product, sales, and pricing strategy
  • Act as a Hiring Partner, as soon as needed, for effective local operations

You will bring to the table:

  • Possess over 10 years of professional experience, with 5 years specifically dedicated to B2B technology sales targeting grocery retail customers
  • Enjoy interacting with diverse stakeholders and adept at tailoring communication to suit different audiences.
  • Demonstrated qualities of being well-organized, analytical, and a natural problem solver, coupled with strong influencing skills through assertive communication.
  • Exhibit a customer-driven mindset, effectively articulating solutions internally to address client issues.
  • Hold a deep passion for the retail industry, understanding how autonomous retail improves customer service, drives business growth, and enhances efficiency.
  • Fluent in English, with strong storytelling and presentation abilities
  • A proven track record as a team builder and manager
  • Proactive in lifting businesses from inception to success, and open to frequent travel, primarily within the South EU region and occasionally to Lisbon

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in setting up sales processes
  • Strong preference for candidates with startup experience
  • Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and French proficiency is a plus

After six months, success means:  

  • Thorough understanding of Sensei's products and their value to shoppers and retailers
  • Increase satisfaction levels in current accounts, specifically with major retailers and FMCG partners.
  • Positioning as a trusted partner to existing customers and ensuring consistent high-quality solutions delivery.
  • Engagement with potential clients for the rollout of autonomous stores and cabinets.
  • Execution of an agreed GTM strategy and plan for Italy
  • Establishment of strong relationships with top grocery retailers, forecourt owners, and retail space operators
