On May 9, 2024, Sensei and DAO celebrated a new milestone with the opening of their second autonomous store in Italy, right in the heart of Trento. Building on the success of their first location in Verona—the country’s first autonomous store—this new launch reinforces DAO’s commitment to offering innovative, customer-centric retail experiences powered by Sensei’s advanced AI technology.

The store offers a seamless and efficient shopping experience, where customers can browse over 2,221 SKUs across 215 sqm of space. From fresh produce to baked goods, the layout mirrors that of a traditional supermarket.

What sets it apart is the real-time basket tracking technology, which allows customers to see their purchases updated as they shop—offering full transparency and reducing friction. The result is a rapid and smooth checkout process, with an average time of just 41 seconds, showcasing a new standard in convenience for urban retail.
