Sensei, a Lisbon-based leader in autonomous retail technology, has successfully closed a €15 million Series A funding round. This significant milestone underscores the company's commitment to reshaping the retail landscape through innovative, AI-driven solutions.
The funding will accelerate the deployment of Sensei's cutting-edge platform, which leverages computer vision and AI to enable seamless, checkout-free shopping experiences. By integrating sensors and real-time inventory tracking, Sensei's technology offers unparalleled convenience for consumers and valuable insights for retailers.
To celebrate this achievement, Sensei launched a campaign highlighting its journey from inception to present day. Central to this story is the “Fishing Rod Mentality” — a metaphor symbolizing the company’s early days of venturing into unknown territory with determination and creativity, despite having no clear roadmap or reference points. This mindset embodies Sensei’s innovative spirit and commitment to pushing boundaries in autonomous retail.
The Series A round was led by BlueCrow Capital, with participation from LINCE CAPITAL, Explorer, Kamay Ventures, Techstars, METRO AG, Iberis Capital, Bright Pixel (formerly Sonae IM), Seaya, and business angels Diogo Mónica and João Graça. Their support reflects confidence in Sensei's vision and the transformative potential of its technology.
With this new capital, Sensei is poised to expand its impact, bringing frictionless shopping experiences to more retailers and consumers across Europe.
